About The Best Automatic Cat Feeders
In short
We help cat owners pick an automatic feeder that fits their cat, their food and their home. We compare published specs, check every one on the brand's own site and link the source. We don't run a lab, and we never claim to have used a feeder ourselves.
What you'll find here
- A feeder finder covering 38 feeders, filtered by how each one recognises your cat, what food it holds and what happens in a power cut.
- Guides built around real feeding problems: food stealing, wet food, two-cat homes, time away.
- Help pages with lights, error codes and resets, taken from each brand's manual.
- A microchip checker that tells you which feeders read your cat's chip.
How we check things
A spec appears only after we find it on the brand's own page or manual, and it links to that source. If a brand doesn't say, we leave it blank. Health and feeding facts come from vets and research bodies such as Cornell's Feline Health Center and the AAFP, and each one is credited where it's used. The full method is on How we research.
How the site is paid for
When you buy through our links we earn a commission from Amazon, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide what we recommend, and nobody can pay to be listed. Details are in our affiliate disclosure.
What we don't do
- Show Amazon star ratings or review counts.
- Rank feeders with made-up scores. Our picks are "best for a need", each with its reason.
- Track price history or send price alerts.
- Run ads or sell anyone's data.
Who's the cat?
Ginger, the cartoon tabby you see around the site, is our mascot. She hasn't used any of the feeders either.
Spotted a mistake?
Brands change specs and we sometimes get things wrong. Email hello@thebestautomaticcatfeeder.com with the feeder and a link to the brand's page, and we'll check it and update the date on the page. More ways to reach us are on the contact page.
