Automatic cat feeder help
The usual problems
Why is my automatic cat feeder beeping?
A beep usually signals an alert or fault, but meanings differ by brand, so check your model's manual. PETLIBRO's fix for constant loud beeping with an E00 error on its Granary feeder is to let the base dry for two days if it got wet, then try a new adapter or batteries. For abnormal beeping on its One RFID feeder, it suggests using the original adapter and moving metal objects or electronics away. Some alerts are lights instead: Sure Petcare's feeder flashes red for low batteries.

Why is my cat feeder not dispensing food?
Brands' troubleshooting guides point to three usual causes: a food jam, a power problem, or a schedule or clock error. For jams, PETLIBRO says to clear the rotor, use kibble within its stated size range and keep the hopper about half full. Check the adapter and batteries, and after a power cut VOLUAS advises resetting the clock and meal times. Sure Petcare adds cleaning the sensors and moving the feeder away from metal or electrical appliances.

How do I reset an automatic cat feeder?
It depends on the model, so check the manual, and expect a reset to erase stored settings. On Sure Petcare's microchip feeder, hold the Add Pet button for 10 seconds until the light alternates red and green, then register each pet again. On PETLIBRO's One RFID, hold the Reset button until a voice confirms the reset, then reconnect Wi-Fi and set up the feeding schedules again. Simple timer feeders may only need the clock and meal times re-entered.

How do I clean an automatic cat feeder?
Unplug it, wash the parts that touch food, and keep water away from the electronics. The FDA advises washing pet food bowls with soap and hot water after each use. Bases usually can't get wet: Sure Petcare says never to submerge its feeder and to hand-wash its bowls, and PETLIBRO says not to rinse its feeder bases and to switch off the batteries before cleaning. Replace desiccant packs as directed; PETLIBRO suggests every two weeks for its Granary feeder.
