Food jams

Dry or freeze-dried food only (freeze-dried recommended), pieces up to 15 x 25 mm; no wet, overly hard or incompatible food. Jams happen at the grinder (E011 or the food-jam icon): brush the grinding set clean every 1-2 weeks.

How to reset it

Hold the Wi-Fi button 10 seconds to restore factory settings. Holding it 3 seconds only starts pairing or resets the network.

What a reset erases: Restores factory settings; the manual doesn't list what is erased.

The feed button: hold 6 seconds to turn child lock off, double-click to feed or resume, single-click to pause meal prep, hold 3 seconds to end the current feeding.

Setting it up

  1. Wipe the food bin with the included wipe, rinse the water tank and fill it with purified water below 60 C (140 F), then fit the desiccant in its holder (not in the food bin).
  2. Place it on a flat, hard surface against a wall, near the router, not on carpet and not anywhere below 4 C (40 F). Optionally fit the battery pack.
  3. Add freeze-dried or dry food (pieces up to 15 x 25 mm), close the lid fully, rinse and dry the bowl, and plug in. It self-checks and the bowl holder extends; seat the bowl.
  4. In the Neakasa app tap Add Device, then Riko. Hold the Wi-Fi button 3 seconds until it beeps and flashes white, then join a 2.4 GHz network (Bluetooth and precise location on). Setup takes 30-60 seconds.
  5. Dispense and discard the first two servings to flush the water system, then follow the in-app beginner guide and a one-week acclimation plan.

Cleaning

Unplug first; never rinse or immerse the main unit, only wipe it with a slightly damp cloth. The food bowl is dishwasher-safe; clean it every 1-2 days. Brush the grinder and wipe around the nozzle every 1-2 weeks. Wash the food bin and water tank and rinse the tank filter monthly. Run an app-guided Deep Cleaning of the water system with the included cleaner every 4-6 months. Replace the desiccant every 30-60 days or when the beads turn green. Rehydrated food should be eaten within 3-4 hours.

Power and batteries

12 V adapter (18 W) plus an optional 10.8 V 2500 mAh removable battery pack (Everyday Set). It switches to battery automatically when mains is cut, and battery life is about 5-7 days (product page: up to 7 days cordless). The light turns green on battery.

Wi-Fi and the app

2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only plus Bluetooth for setup (Neakasa app). Neakasa warns that network drops can delay or fail remote commands and cause sync errors; it doesn't explicitly say schedules continue offline.

Warranty

12-month limited warranty from delivery on the main unit (official or authorised channels; consumables excluded). 30-day returns. Support: support@neakasa.com.
