Food jams
Dry food under 0.5 in across; oneisall tested with about 0.3 in kibble. Keep the tank and outlet dry and clean out the outlet if food stops there (E-01). An optional Slow Feed setting spaces portions 10 seconds apart.
How to reset it
Hold the dial about 3 seconds to unlock, turn to RESET and hold the dial 5 seconds. You hear two beeps and the Wi-Fi light flashes. A 'Factory Reset' option is also in the app's settings.
What a reset erases: Wi-Fi connection; the display labels RESET as 'clean all settings'.
oneisall suggests this reset when the app can't find the device during pairing.
Setting it up
- Assemble the feeder (oneisall gives assembly only as a QR-code video), add dry kibble under 0.5 in, plug in the 5 V 1 A Type-C adapter and optionally fit backup batteries.
- Install the Smart Life app, register with your email (enter the verification code), and turn on phone Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS/location.
- On the feeder, hold the dial about 3 seconds to unlock, then turn to RESET and hold 5 seconds until the Wi-Fi icon turns red and flashes.
- In the app tap '+', then Add Device. Select PFD-001Pro, then pick a 2.4 GHz network (switch a 5 GHz-only router to 2.4 GHz first) and enter the password.
- When the app shows success, tap Done; the Wi-Fi icon turns white and stops flashing. Set meal plans in the app (up to 10 meals, max 36 portions each).
Cleaning
Don't soak the main unit in water. Written cleaning steps are replaced by a QR-code video. Throw away a broken desiccant bag; for replacement desiccant oneisall says to email support. Bowl is 304 stainless steel. No dishwasher guidance or desiccant schedule.
Power and batteries
5 V 1 A adapter (cord recommended) plus backup batteries (type not stated in the manual). On batteries alone it still feeds on schedule during an outage, but the app can't be used until it's plugged back in. The battery icon shows and the screen sleeps after 30 seconds.
Wi-Fi and the app
2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only (Smart Life app; Bluetooth used for discovery). If the network drops, the feeder keeps running its schedule, so set plans in advance before travelling.
