Pawsync Smart Pet Feeder: fixes, reset and setup
Lights, beeps and error messages
| What you see or hear | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Lock/Feed light stays red | Low food, low battery, food blockage, too much food in the bowl (over 150 g / 0.53 oz), or scale not connected. | Add kibble, check the food distributor for a blockage, replace the batteries, press the scale firmly onto the dock, and empty excess food from the bowl. |
| Lock/Feed light red, blinks twice | Scale calibration failed. | Unlock the feeder, check the bowl is empty and level, and calibrate again. |
| Lock/Feed light white, blinks twice | Scale calibrated successfully. | The brand doesn't say |
| Lock/Feed light red, blinks once | Action failed because the control panel is locked. | Hold FEED 3 seconds to unlock (light turns white). |
| Lock/Feed light off | Control panel is locked (auto-locks after 5 minutes idle). | Hold FEED 3 seconds to unlock. |
| Wi-Fi light blinking slowly / fast / steady blue | Waiting to connect / connecting / connected. | The brand doesn't say |
| Wi-Fi light blinks 3 times | Wi-Fi disabled because it's in Battery Mode. | Restore mains power; the app resyncs automatically. |
| Dispenser rocks back and forth 3 times | Smart Jam Fix is trying to free a motor jam. | If it fails, the light turns red and the app notifies you. Remove the tank and check the food distributor for a blockage. |
| All lights off | No power, Sleep Mode on (turns off lights and sound), or a blockage. | Check the outlet, check Sleep Mode in the app, and check the distributor for a blockage. |
| App shows feeder offline | Power or internet outage, a changed router, Battery Mode, or a loose adapter. | Make sure the adapter is firmly in the outlet and the router is online. Reset (10 s) if needed. |
| Tank empty but no low-food alert | Dirty low-food sensors or the app is disconnected. | Wipe the low-food sensors with a dry cloth and check the app connection. |
Food jams
Dry kibble 4-15 mm only. Built-in Smart Jam Fix rocks the dispenser 3 times to free a jam, then alerts you. Too much food in the bowl (over 150 g) can block the outlet. To clear, flip the tank, turn the distributor cover anticlockwise, pull out the agitator and slide out the distributor.
How to reset it
Hold the Wi-Fi/Zero button 10 seconds until the Wi-Fi light turns off.
What a reset erases: Restores default settings and disconnects Wi-Fi/app. Feeder settings in the app reset, but pet information, history and health trends are kept.
Reconnect by adding the device again in the Pawsync app.
Setting it up
- Slide the lid release switch to unlocked, lift the lid and unpack the bowl, scale, adapter and desiccant. Take the desiccant out of its outer plastic only (don't open it), put it in the compartment under the lid and refit the lid front-first.
- Plug the adapter into the port inside the battery compartment. Optionally fit 3 x 1.5 V D batteries as backup.
- Press the scale firmly onto the dock, set the empty bowl on it and plug the feeder in.
- Install the Pawsync app with phone Bluetooth and Location on. On a secure 2.4 GHz network, hold the Wi-Fi/Zero button 5 seconds and follow the in-app steps within 30 minutes of power-on (after that the buttons lock).
- With the bowl empty and level, press Wi-Fi/Zero twice to calibrate the scale (light blinks white twice). Recalibrate after removing the bowl or scale and after refilling.
- Fill with dry kibble 4-15 mm between the low-food sensors and the MAX line. If the tank was empty, press FEED once to prime the agitator.
Cleaning
Unplug and empty the tank and bowl. Wash the tank, lid, agitator, distributor, distributor cover and steel bowl with soap and water and dry them fully. Wipe the scale and base with a dry cloth only: never rinse, soak or put them in a dishwasher (they contain electronics and sensors). The manual doesn't say any part is dishwasher-safe. Replace the desiccant monthly.
Power and batteries
5 V 1.5 A adapter plus 3 x 1.5 V D batteries as backup (not included). In a power cut it switches to Battery Mode and the app notifies you. Wi-Fi, remote control and notifications turn off, but scheduled meals continue and the app resyncs when power returns. With no batteries, food won't dispense in an outage. Remove batteries if unused for a long time.
Wi-Fi and the app
2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only (secure network, no captive-portal sign-in pages), with Bluetooth for setup; turn off any VPN while pairing. Schedules keep running offline.
